Twyla Kittleson

Twyla Kittleson, 72, Max and Benedict, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at a Garrison nursing home with her family by her side. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict.

Twyla R. (Evenson) Kittleson was born June 5, 1940 to Bernard and Mary (MacDonald) Evenson, in Bottineau, ND. She married Elmo Kittleson on July 27, 1955 in Benedict, ND. They lived many places, coast to coast over their 58 years of marriage.

Her life revolved around her family and children. The house was always full of children, the revolving door always turning with nephews, nieces, and neighborhood kids and friends. Christmas was her time to shine, from the decorations to the baking, to the tree and the music. She loved Christmas Eve Santa visits the most. Twyla had a knack for nurturing sick, abandoned animals. She didn’t care what it was. She helped everything from raccoons to possums, antelope to baby kittens. Her love and care always brought them back to good health.

It was never a surprise to walk through Twyla and Emlo’s door and immediately get feed. Between the baked and canned goods, you never left hungry. Besides her hospitality, she also loved filling the house with newly bloomed peonies and lilacs. She loved living on the farm with all her critters.

Twyla is survived by her husband of 58 years, Elmo Kittleson, Max, her children, Donavon Kittleson, Kalispell, MT, Garrett (Maureen) Kittleson, Stayton, OR, Candace (Raymond) Iverson, Benedict, ND, Brent (Cheryl) Kittleson, Benedict, ND, Tori Kittleson, Washburn, ND, Merry (Gary), Kenmare, ND, & Cori Kittleson of Benedict; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Evenson, Great Falls, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Ben Evenson, sisters, Murriel Anderson, Lorraine Arnold, Arvelle Evenson, brothers, Curtis and Clair Evenson, Grandson, Blaine Kittleson.
