Alex Bendickson, 21, Garrison ND, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 in his home.

Alex Christopher Bendickson was born November 21, 1995 in Bismarck, ND to Brian & Jodi (Schreiner) Bendickson. He was raised and educated in Garrison. He graduated from Garrison High School in 2014 and attended Bismarck State College graduating in 2016 with an Agronomy degree. He interned at Hefty Seed Co. in Wilton, ND in the summer of 2015. He also worked for Bendickson Farms and was to start his second summer at the North Central Research Center South of Minot, ND on May 1, 2017.


In High School Alex was active in Band, FBLA, FFA, Basketball, & Baseball.
Alex was known by all for his love of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. He also was a Duke Blue Devils fan. He had an addictive personality that made people smile. He was a natural at playing the trombone and had a love for Classic Rock. He loved visiting and could strike up a conversation with anyone whether he knew them well or was meeting them for the first time. His mom would always refer to him as her "Gentle Giant".

Alex loved spending time with his family, especially his brother, Clay. He was excited for Clay to get his license in March and was keeping him busy this Spring giving rides at the farm helping him move equipment. He was excited for his sister, Chelsea, to move to Minneapolis in June so he and Clay could road trip and take in as many Viking and Twins games as they could. Alex loved spending time with his buddies "chillin".

Aunts & Uncles: Nancy Bendickson (Gary Magelssen) of Tehachapi, CA; Roger (Carrie) Bendickson of Garrison, ND; Glenn (Candace) Schreiner of Max, ND; Becky (Charly) Kerzman of Wheatland, WY; Bruce (Sue) Schreiner of Garrison, ND; Lori (Darryl) Sayler of Minot, ND. Cousins: Hans (Catie) Magelssen, Will and Joshua of London, England; Anna Magelssen (Edgar Renazco) and Bibiana of San Francisco, CA; Erik (Fadillah) Magelssen of Singapore. Jenifer (Justin) Rambur, Kadence and Jaxson of Bismarck, ND; Casie (John) Groebner, Braxton and Oakley of Rogers, MN; Nick Bendickson (Mallory) of Garrison, ND. Alex was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Bernard Bendickson and Cletus Schreiner; Aunt, Paula Schreiner; and Cousin, Jeremy Rustad.

Mass of Christian Burial and a Celebration of Alex's life will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison, ND on May 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery. Rosary will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 from 9 to 5 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be given to the Garrison High School Music Boosters or the American Legion Titans Baseball.
