Betty Jean Hummel, 53, Minot, formerly of Garrison, got her wings and entered her heavenly home with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

Betty was born on May 7, 1961 in Garrison, ND to James and Ethel (Yaeger) Hummel. At the time of her death she was employed with Kalix, working at the vocational workshop in Minot, ND.

Betty spread her sunshine to everyone she came in contact with in her life. She found no fault in anyone and had compassion for everyone in her life.

Betty's family was very important to her. She loved family gatherings. She also enjoyed having nightly conversations with family members and friends. She will be missed by many family and friends alike.

Betty is survived by her father, James Hummel, Garrison; brothers Richard (Marlys) Hummel, Bottineau, Craig Hummel "Hummer", Garrison; sisters, Lois (Gary) Anderson, Seymour, IN, Mary (Gary) Angell, Garrison, Peggy (Frank) Moran, Garrison, Susan (Jeff) Ekstrom, Garrison; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Hummel, sister, Janet Foster, infant brother, James, niece, Tanya Hummel Cox, and nephew, Timothy (TJ) Bauer.
