Obituary

Betty Lou Seidler, 72, Garrison, formerly of Bremerton, WA, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at a Garrison nursing home. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Betty Lou was born June 29, 1941 in Garrison, ND to Edward and Sophia (Gottschall) Seidler. She was raised and educated in the Turtle Lake area and graduated from Turtle Lake High School. She was once married to Harlan "Bud" Behles.

Betty Lou was a very hard worker her whole life and she worked in many different areas. She spent most of her working years as a housekeeper for larger cleaning firms. She lived and worked in Garrison, Minot, Turtle Lake, McClusky, rural Sawyer, and from 1988 to 2013, she lived in Bremerton, WA, before moving back to Garrison. In 2008 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was extremely strong throughout her illness and fought a very brave fight.

Betty Lou was a very active person with many interests. She loved fishing, crafting, sewing, dancing, watching movies, and playing cards and bingo. Her favorite hobby however, was bowling. She was in bowling leagues in North Dakota and Washington and won many awards in numerous states and went to several national bowling tournaments.

Betty Lou is survived by her daughters, Sally (Thomas) Golden, Bremerton, WA, Sarah Lee Seidler, Ross, ND; granddaughter, LaToya Seidler, New Orleans, LA; great grandson, Jordan Seidler, Bremerton, WA; brothers, Edmund (Theresa) Seidler, Theodore (Paula) Seidler, all of Garrison, ND; sisters, Marlene (Dale) Anderson, Ft. Ransom, ND, Irene Craig, Pierre, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Edwin Seidler.
