Blanche Weishaar, 91, Garrison, formerly of Minot, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. A rosary will be said on Friday at 7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Rosehill Cemetery in Minot.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 6 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.
Blanche was born on the Schneider farm in Benedict, ND to Mike and Emily (Krebsbach) Krausert, the oldest of her four siblings, Rita, Harold and Harvey. She attended the Lund Schools before attending school in Garrison, graduating in 1944.
Blanche met and married John Weishaar on July 2, 1946 in Sawyer, ND. She worked at Minot Drug in downtown Minot and later at White Drug. Her last place of employment was the Veterans Hospital where she worked as a receptionist. She and John were blessed with three children, Terry, Jerelyn and Glenn.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison, where she was also a member of St. Ann's Altar Society.
Blanche's home was Garrison for the last ten years of her life. She made many friends while living at the Benedictine Center, including members of the nursing staff.
Blanche is survived by her son, Glenn (Judy) Weishaar, Minot, ND; daughter, Gerelyn (Terrance) Geyer, Garrison, ND; brother, Harold (Jane) Krausert, Garrison, ND; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, son Terry, sister, Rita, brother, Harvey, and many in-laws.
