Carol (Boschee) Carlson, 72, Garrison, formerly of Underwood and Riverdale, died on Thursday, March 28, 2018 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be held in the spring at the Underwood Cemetery.
Carol Jean Boschee was born September 2, 1945 in Linton, ND to Julius and Irene (Bauer) Boschee. She was raised and educated in Zeeland, ND. She went on to school at Ellendale College and later enrolled at Wahpeton for secretarial training studies, where she met her future husband, Bill. On October 3, 1965, she married William "Bill" Carlson in Little Falls, MN. The couple lived in many different states including North Dakota, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. While in North Dakota, they lived in many different cities, including Underwood and Riverdale, which was always considered home.
While living in Riverdale, Carol, worked as a secretary for the Corp of Engineers. She later worked as a clerk at the grocery store in Underwood as well as at the Underwood Golf Club. She also worked as a clerk for the US Air Force while living in that area.
Carol, or "Pickle", as her family affectionately called her, enjoyed working where she could meet people. She was active in the Legion Auxilary, serving as president. She was a member of a women's club in Riverdale and loved her Wednesday night bowling outings. Carol was also a Sunday school teacher and served on their church council.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of over 52 years, Bill, Garrison; sons, Jeffrey (Genia) Carlson, Payson, AZ, Brian Carlson, Fargo, ND; daughter, Carrie (Wayne) Nerem, Garrison; grandchildren, Amber Klingbeil, Garrison, Dylan Nerem, Deployed in Afghanistan, Lexi and Kenzie Carlson, Minot, Alec Carlson, Payson, AZ; greatgrandchildren, Rylie and Payten Klingbeil, Garrison, and Stella Hook, Fargo; mother, Irene Boschee, Garrison; and twin brother, Gene (Pam) Boschee, Sherwood, OR.
She was preceded in death by her father, Julius Boschee, and one brother, Allan Boschee. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison.
