Celesta Elaine Ostby was born October 10, 1932 to Newell and Emma (Russel) Wretling in Garrison, ND. She attended school in Garrison and graduated from Garrison High School. During high school she worked at Robinson Drug as a "soda jerk".
Celesta married Norman Ostby on December 17, 1950. They made their home on the Greendale Farm in Douglas Township. For many years she did the farm wife duties; cook, garden, and anything else that needed to get done. Later in life, Celesta worked at the Benedictine Living Center in the Activities Department. She spent 25 years working with all the wonderful residents that she thoroughly enjoyed, and forever cherished her time spent helping them.
Celesta was active in the area homemakers club, and very dedicated to Trinity Lutheran Church and all the activities the church provided. She was a member of the T.O.P.S. Club and helped with band parents. Celesta's most cherished times were spending time with her family and friends; however, chocolate of any sorts came in a close second!
