Obituary

Cornelius Everett, 50, White Shield, died on Thursday, Dec. 22 2011 at a Garrison hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at the Ralph Wells Jr. Memorial Complex in White Shield. Wake services will be held on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 pm at the complex. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in rural White Shield.

Cornelius "Cory" Everett was born June 8, 1961 to Theodore Sr. and Betty (Fox) Everett. He lived and attended school in Underwood during his younger years. He finished his schooling in White Shield and then moved to California to live with his brother Lucky. He returned to North Dakota and married his first wife, Sandy. They had two children, Holly and Cornelius Jr. In 1985 he moved to Kotzebue, Alaska where he met married Esther Henry. Eleven children were born of this marriage, and he took great pride in raising his children. In 2007 he returned to North Dakota and made his home in Williston, where he worked as a landscaper.

Cory always had a green thumb and enjoyed working with plants and gardening. His children will always remember his as being a quiet but humorous father who always had a smile on his face.

Cory is survived by his children, Holly, Cornelius Jr., Cory, Carmelita, twins, Kendra and Shasta, Cornelius Bug Jr., Ezra, Braderlyn, Zybrylle, Jyzzyka, Steven, and Lawrence; sisters, Karen (Robert) Mulluk and Clarine Oshkeshequam; brothers, Theodore Jr. (Alice), Russel (Sherry), Ben, Lloyd, and Edward; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Teddy, twin sister, Carmelita, brother, Marlin, son, Steven, paternal grandparents, Claire and Fanny Everett, and maternal grandparents, George and Edna Morsette.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
