Dennis Fredrich, 67, Garrison, died on Sunday, February 5 at his home. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service held. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Dennis was born on June 4, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN to Helen Fredrich. They moved to a farm in rural Garrison when Dennis was an infant. Dennis graduated from Garrison High School in 1962. For a few years Dennis worked at Farmer's Union in Garrison and at many area missile sites. He then went to Welding School in Cleveland, OH.
On December 6, 1968 Dennis married Sharlene Kostenko in Max, ND. They lived in Zap and Hazen for several years before making their home northwest of Garrison wherethey raised their two daughters, Diane and Samantha. Dennis worked for North American Coal from 1968 to 1978 when he then went to work for Falkirk Mine until his retirement.
Dennis had many hobbies but mostly he loved to hunt and was a well accomplished carpenter.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharlene, Garrison; daughters Diane (Mark) Krimbill, Brookings, SD and Samantha (Kevin) Haselton, El Paso, TX; one grandson, Joshua Hazelton, El Paso, TX; a half-sister, PJ (Monty) Trondson, Underwood, ND, sister-in-law, Connie Sayler, Garrison; and numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, grandparents, Emil and Ella Fredrich, and his half- brother, Jim Sayler; and father-in-law, Richard Kostenko.
