Dolly Jane (Fox) Azure died July 12, 2018 in Fargo, ND.  Wake services will be held on Sunday, July 15th, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the White Shield School.  Funeral Services will be on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the White Shield School.  Burial will be at the Nishu Cemetery.

Dolly Jane (Fox) Azure (Medicine Woman her Arikara Name) was born August 18, 1934 in Elbowoods, ND to Susan Jane (Many Bears) and Joseph R. Fox.  She was raised in Elbowoods and attended school there as well as in Flandreau, SD, and Minot. She attended the United Tribes Educational Technical College earning a degree in Administrative Assisting.

She was married to Ernest Azure Sr. on February 28, 1956. Together they lived in  Minot, Belcourt, Bismarck, Sioux Falls, SD, and Fargo . She worked at United Tribes as a dispensary secretary. She also served as an administrative assistant at the City Hall in Sioux Falls, SD, Villa Maria, and The Village in Fargo.

Dolly enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, doing word puzzles, and going shopping.  She adored her two cats Melvin and Jackie. She also cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her  children, Joseph Blaine (Kathy) Azure, Linda Jane (Emerson) Chasing Bear, Ernest Azure Jr., Kelly (Patrick) Eagle, Kathy Lynn (Luis) Vega, Kim Wayne Azure, and Richard Bryan (Betty) Azure, grandchildren, Brian Azure,  Lindsay Azure, Travis Chasing Bear, Ronald Chasing Bear, Thomas Chasing Bear, Kevin Chasing Bear, Emily Chasing Bear, Channing Azure, Samantha Thompson, Brandi Azure, Amanda Marquardt, Melissa Eagle, Troy White Owl, Randy White Owl, Cristta White Owl, Larissa White Owl, Brandon Azure, Zachary Azure, Shyanne Azure, Grace Azure, Richard Bryan Azure Jr., and Erica Spriggs, Great Grandchildren, Cruz Chasing Bear, Unique Chasing Bear, Collin Erbentraut, Cali Azure, Andrew Thompson, Princess Thompson, Draven Azure, Alexus, Malachi, Bailey, Isabela, Jordan, Ethan, Jadyn White Owl, Kyle Fagre, Raiden Cyrus, Ava Rickowsk, 15 in CA, and 9 great great grandchildren in CA.

Dolly was preceded in death by her Husband Ernest Azure Sr, and Grandson Jason Azure, Calvin Fox, Wilbert Fox, Laidman Fox, William Fox, Alfreda Many Ribs, Esther Red Fox, father, Joseph R. Fox, mother Susan Fox.
