Obituary

Dorothy Krebsbach, 90, Garrison, died on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. A rosary and vigil service will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 pm at the church. Interment will be held at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Garrison.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1 to 4 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

Dorothy Zook was the second daughter born to Elmer and Olga (Weber) Zook at her parent's home in Garrison on December 29, 1924. She was raised and educated in the Garrison area where she attended grade and high school and was active in basketball and softball. She graduated from Garrison High School in May of 1942 and after graduation went to Minnesota where she worked as a curb girl at a drive in. She then went to Fargo and worked at an insurance office. She later became a teacher and taught country school in Snow and Malcolm Townships.

On November 28, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Elmer Krebsbach at St. Adolph's Catholic Church in rural Max. Following their marriage they moved to the Krebsbach farmstead where Elmer farmed and raised cattle with his two brothers, Leo and Clarence.

In 1976 they bought a home in Garrison where she continued to live after the death of Elmer in December of 2002. In October of 2010, Dorothy moved into the Meadows Assisted Living Facility in Garrison. In 2013, she moved into the Benedictine Living Center.

Dorothy was a member of Endres Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Max, as well as a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison where she was active with St. Ann's Altar Society and the Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, music, dancing, playing cards, and bingo. She also loved going to her grandchildren's basketball and hockey games and watching Atlanta Braves baseball games with Elmer.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken (Gay) Krebsbach, Crosby, ND, and Tom (Karen) Krebsbach, Max, ND; grandchildren, Tracey (Peter) Van Haaften, Brandy (Curt) Smallbrock, Kasey (Rachele) Krebsbach, Jesse (Ashley) Krebsbach, Chris (Denise) Krebsbach, Robby Krebsbach; 11 great grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Dauw, Cade Smallbrock, Payton Mueller, Ryker, Korbyn, Chale, Parker, Hunter, Cade and Addison Krebsbach; brother-in-law, Joe O'Shea; sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Alvina Krebsbach, Garrison, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 57 years, Elmer, sisters, Alice O'Shea, Betty Burke, brother, Norman Zook, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
