Dorothy Sayler, 75, Garrison, died on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home. She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in June 2020, a stubborn German that fought hard for the last 3 months of her life.

Dorothy Sayler, 75, Garrison, died on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home. She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in June 2020, a stubborn German that fought hard for the last 3 months of her life.
Dorothy (Freuer) Sayler was born to Edwin Sr. and Marjorie Bertha (Marquardt) Freuer on June 19, 1945 on the family farm east of Garrison. She was born premature at just over 1 pound and kept warm in a shoebox over the furnace, fed by an eyedropper. She graduated from Garrison High School in 1963. The only daughter born she took great pride in watching over her brothers.
Dorothy lived in Mandan for most of her life and worked at many different dry cleaners. She found great joy in making quilts which her family will treasure forever. She enjoyed baking and sharing with everybody. She loved to get out on the water and fish. She also enjoyed camping trips and created many special memories with friends and family sitting around a campfire. Dorothy loved plants and watching birds, her backyard was always full of flowers and bird feeders.
Dorothy married Wayne Sayler on October 19, 2007 and they made their home in Garrison. Dorothy and Wayne dated briefly in 1965 before going their separate ways and then reconnected in 2004.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Wayne, Garrison; Daughters: Debbie (Carlyle) Hausauer, Mercer; Patty (Allen) Albaugh, Bismarck; Sons: Darvin (Melissa) Schauer, Mandan; Jay (Nicole) Schauer, Mandan; Stepchildren: Randy Sayler, Todd Sayler, Laurie Oladele, Renee (Ron) Pribyl; Grandchildren: Courtney (Duncan) Swart, Karissa Albaugh, Kolton Albaugh, Casey Schauer, Savana Schauer, Breanna (Chad) Brinkman, Karter Schauer. Step Grandchildren: Austin, Ashley, Nicholas, Mariya, Benjamin, Sara, Cody, Kayla, and several great grand-children. Her very special cat Paws, many nieces and nephews. Brothers: Harold (Renae) Freuer, Beulah, ND and Jake (Betty) Freuer, Highland, CA. Sisters-in-law: Annabelle Freuer, Garrison, ND; Carolyn Freuer, Minot, ND. Brother-in-law: Kenny (Verlee) Sayler
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, brothers Dave, Edwin Jr. (Tiny), and infant brother Johnny.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 2pm St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.
