Obituary

Drew Hopkins, "Two Feathers", 66, Fargo, formerly of White Shield, died on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 11:00 at the Ralph Wells Jr. Memorial Complex in White Shield. Wake services were held on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 pm at the Complex. Burial was at St. Andrew's Cemetery south of White Shield.
Drew was born on February 25, 1952 in Garrison, ND to Archie and Athelia (White Bear) Hopkins. He spent his childhood years at Mandaree, ND and followed in his Grandpa's footsteps. Drew learned a lot from is Grandpa. He had a passion for riding horses. He rode bareback and saddle-bronc. Some of his other favorite hobbies include boxing, rodeos, and singing while playing his guitar. He spent his elementary years in Mandaree then later attended high school in White Shield, where he met Bobbette Fox. They were married October 3, 1969 and share four children, Jada, Elizabeth, Archie and Cameron.
Drew graduated from Forth Berthold Community College (formerly NSHC) in 1982. That fall he attended NDSU for a couple semesters. He then started working at Northern Improvement Company for the next 25 years. In the winter of 1993, he started driving truck for Wyle Trucking for 6 years when he was off for the season for Northern Improvement. He retire in 2013.
Drew lived his life out in Fargo, where he enjoyed and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived a fulfilled life with everyone he loved and cared for, his friends and family. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish. He was also a huge Vikings fan and adored all his grandchildren.
Drew is survived by his children, Jada Hopkins Sun, Elizabeth Hopkins, Archie Hopkins, Cameron (Kristi) Hopkins; grandchildren, Miranda, Marie, Patrick, Coty, Cole, Matthew, Nathan, Damon, Dannyale, Jada Lynn, Arline, Abby, Taylin, Jerimiah, Kolyxn, Dredin, Dion, Skylar, Xander, Alistar; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Cornilius Hopkins; sisters, Elva (Norman) Carlson, Ramona Foolish Bear, Dolly Hopkins, and Izetta Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Hopkins and Athelia White Bear, infant son, Damon P. Hopkins, sisters, Caroline Hopkins, Elizabeth Hendrick, and brother, Dion (Coddie) White Bear.
