Obituary
Duane James Engel, 77, Garrison, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at a Garrison nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 to Noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison.
Duane was born November 2, 1935 to Christ and Regina (Steinwand) Engel in rural Garrison, ND where he was raised and educated. He served 3 years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.
On May 23rd, 1959, Duane married Wanda Triebwasser. They had two sons, Daniel and Jack.
Duane is survived by his wife, Wanda, Garrison; sons, Daniel (Monica) Engel, Elko, MN and Jack Engel, Garrison; grandson, Christian Daniel Engel, Elko, MN; brother, Elmer Engel, WA; sisters, LaVerne Knutt, Clatskine, OR, and Juanita (LeLand) Grosz, Garrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Norman Engel, sisters, Shirley Toole and Bernetta Lais, brothers-in-law, Robert Knutt and Mike Lais, and sisters-in-law, Marleys Engel and Marie Engel.
