Elaine Eslinger, 85, Garrison, died on Friday, March 7, 2014, at a Garrison nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Burial will be in the spring at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday 1 hour prior to services at the Benedictine Living Center.

Elaine was born October 11, 1928 in rural Garrison, ND to Reinholt and Lydia (Boger) Eslinger. She was raised on the family farm one mile east of Garrison and attended Garrison schools.

While living on the farm, Elaine helped with all various chores that needed to be done. She enjoyed all of the cats and dogs that were on the farm. And as Elaine said, "There were plenty of them!".

Some of Elaine's fondest memories were of her mother's German cooking. She loved strudel, knoephla, and anything else that came from the German heritage. Elaine also loved to listen to church music and attending church at the Benedictine Living Center. Elaine had a great sense of humor and loved to giggle and laugh.

Elaine is survived by numerous nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Delores Eslinger, and two brothers, LeRoy and Floyd Eslinger.
