Elaine was born on December 10, 1954 in Minot, ND. Her parents were Helen and Edwin Hummel. Growing up, Elaine was active in church and school activities and the Garrison-Ettes 4-H Club. She graduated from Garrison High School in 1973 and then attended Capital Commercial College in Bismarck. Elaine was married to William Hanley from 1975-1981. Elaine was a long-time resident of Benedictine Living Center. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, painting fuzzy posters, watching Dr. Phil, and listening to Alabama. She loved when family came to visit and enjoyed taking day trips to restaurants, shopping at the Dollar Store and attending family picnics and gatherings. Elaine had a witty sense of humor and was always ready for a good laugh. The loss of her mother and best friend Helen earlier this year was very difficult for her.
Elaine is survived by her children Carrie Randolph-Breshers (Lee's Summit, MO) and Roger Hanley (Fargo) as well as five grandchildren: Nakia Hanley (active duty Navy), Daryl Randolph Jr. (DJ), Damon Randolph, Dorian Randolph and Dallas Randolph (Lee's Summit, MO). In addition, she is survived by siblings: JoAnn (Donnie) Bergsgaard, Cavalier, ND; LaVonne (Jerry) Mercure, Aurora, CO; Cheryl (Mike) Brown, Lenexa, KS; and Duane (Julie) Hummel, Garrison as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Elaine's family would like to thank the Benedictine Living Center staff for your care, love and kindness.
