Elsie Fetzer, 92, Garrison, died on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Garrison Memorial Hospital Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, at 2:00 pm at the Church of God in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

Elsie was born April 15, 1925 to Ferdinand and Marie (Seidler) Klain in rural Turtle Lake, ND. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1943. She married Ted Fetzer on March 12, 1944. Together they farmed east of Garrison and raised 5 beautiful children. They retired in 1987 and moved into Garrison.

Along with being a housewife, Elsie served as secretary for the McLean County Farmer's Union. She also sold Avon and World Book, but was probably most well known as the "egg lady". She had a passion for doing puzzles, scrapbooking and attending auction sales. Many of her purchases ended up in the thrift store she managed for several years.

Elsie is survived by her son, Dennis (Linda) Fetzer, Rapid City, SD, daughter, Karen (Ron) Larson, Garrison, ND, daughter, Brenda Jackson, Austin, TX, son, Rick (Patty) Fetzer, Garrison, ND; daughter-in-law, Betty Fetzer, Langdon, ND; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren; sister, Jean Offerman, Sand Point, ID; brothers, Albert (Lorraine) Klain, Garrison, ND, Eddie (Carol) Klain, Kalispell, MT; and sisters-in-law, Ann Fetzer, Bismarck, ND and Shirley Klain, Turtle Lake, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted, son, Ronald Fetzer, son-in-law, Dave Splichal, and grandsons, Elijah and Kenton Perkins.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Garrison Church of God.
