Obituary

Elsie E. Weishaar, 95, formerly of Benedict, ND, died January 1, 2015 at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Church of God, Garrison, ND with Reverend Alan Hathaway Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Garrison City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 7:00pm Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison. Visitation will continue for one hour before the services at the church on Tuesday

Elsie was born on November 23, 1919 on a farm north of Garrison, the daughter of Conrad and Regina (Bendewald) Herrmann. She attended country school north of Garrison. Elsie married Arthur "Art" Weishaar on January 8, 1941 on her parent's farm north of Garrison. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Benedict area. They retired from farming in 2002, but continued to live on the farm. Art died March 2, 2013, Elsie continued to live on the farm until entering the swing bed at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital. Elsie died January 1, 2015 at the hospital. Elsie always enjoyed helping with the elections and also enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, sewing doll clothing and quilting.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Arlo (Velma) Weishaar, Benedict, ND; a daughter and son-in-law: Sharlene (Leonard) Krantz, Underwood, ND; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Bert (Alice) Weishaar, Benedict, ND, Ervin (Ella) Weishaar, Wahpeton, ND; four sisters-in-law: Alma Schumaier, Auburn, WA, Esther Vitko, Minot, ND, Hulda Mehlhoff, Fargo, ND and Blanche Weishaar, Garrison, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2013; a grandson, Brian Keith Krantz; two sisters: Martha Jungling and Olga Fast; three brothers: Rueben Herrmann, Emil Herrmann and Elmer Herrmann.
