Gary Hatlestad, "Bubba", 60, Roseau, MN, formerly of Max, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Fargo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Max. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Max.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison and for 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Gary Lee Hatlestad, "Bubba", was born December 30, 1954 in Minot, ND to Howard and Faye Ann (Kalabza) Hatlestad. He was raised in Max and attended Max High School. Gary spent many years custom combining and later went to work for Polaris, where he spent 21 years.

Gary had a passion for motorcyles, and also enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. Gary loved watching sports and cheering for his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers, and his favorite Nascar driver, Jeff Gordon.

Gary is survived by his children, Heidi Hatlestad, Roseau, MN, Jory (Lauren) Hatlestad, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Abbie, Alexis, and Kayden Hatlestad, brothers, Glen Hatlestad, Greg (LyNelle) Hatlestad, Guy (Melissa) Hatlestad, and Gerald (Darcy) Hatlestad; numerous nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Hatlestad.
