Glen Blanchard, 71 of Garrison, passed away July 11, 2023, at his home.
Friends and Family Service will be Thursday, July 20, 2023, at St Paul Lutheran Church at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11 A.M, visitation will be at 10.
Glen Allen Blanchard was born January 25th, 1952, in Denver Colorado to James Blanchard and Florence (Heinzen) Blanchard.
The family moved to Emmett ND where Glen's dad started farming. They later moved to a farmstead outside of Garrison where he grew up.
Glen attended school in Garrison and graduated in 1970. He attended college at NDSCS studying auto mechanics and graduated in 1972. He continued his education at NDSCS studying parts management, graduated in 1974, and started work at Kindred Implement, the John Deere dealership as Parts Manager where he worked until 1986. He went to work for Lindsey Brothers in Fargo until 1989 when he went to work for RDO in Kindred. In 2004, Glen transferred to RDO Industrial in Fargo as a service clerk/service writer until his retirement in 2014.
Glen met his future wife, Donna Davis, while working in Kindred. Glen and Donna had their first date June 23rd, were engaged July 3rd, and married September 2nd, 1976. The couple started married life living in Kindred and a year later built a house 3 miles out of town and started a family.
The couple moved to Garrison, ND, in December 2014 to be closer to their grandchildren.
Glen's joy was spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and puttering around in his shop.
Glen is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Beau (Catherine and Sebastian), Baron (Kylie, Bayne, Bria, and Brek), and Brodie (Sheena, Harlie, and Ada); twin sister, Joyce (Tom) Gross;nieces and nephew; brother-in-law, Duane Davis; sister-in-law, Linda Davis; bonus son, Eric Ohman; bonus granddaughter, Rei Ogden; and his ice cream buddy, Bindi.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, John Chickosky; Donna's parents; and two brothers-in-law.
Memorials can be made in Glen's memory to Camp of the Cross Ministries or Triangle Y Camp of Garrison.
