Grace Westman, 73, of Max, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Garrison.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Max, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Max, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service.

Grace Eileen Jacobson was born on March 10, 1952, to Oscar and Helen Jacobson, Max, ND.

Grace married Roger Westman on October 18, 1970, in Max at Our Savior Lutheran Church. They had two children, Kristine and Kelwayne.

They were foster parents for 34 years. They had two brothers, first as foster children. Robert and Lucas, who lived with them for 16 years and became strong family members too.

Later, Brittany came to live with them when she was around 18 months old and her brother Josiah when he was a newborn. They were adopted on September 26, 2000. More recently they adopted two more boys Robert (RJ) and Dominic on August 23, 2018. This made their family of eight kids to fill the house on birthdays and holidays.

They loved all their foster children, going to casinos, taking cruises to see other parts of the world.

They camped every summer, always a lot of people there-kids, foster kids and grandkids. We were so excited to get there and have a lot of company.

Grace is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Kristine (Chad) Talbott, Kelwayne (Dawn) Westman, Robert Jans, Lucas Jans, Joe Westman Sr. (Marlee), RJ Westman (Aubrey), Dominic Westman; favorite brother, Harold (Pat) Jacobson; favorite sister, Lois Malling; sister-in-law, Sharon (Don) Reiswig; grandchildren, Austin Westman, Mikali Talbott (Jay), Lizabeth Talbott (Brenden), Craig (Hanna) Talbott, Desirae Talbott, Andrew Westman (Shannon), Jamison Diaz (Miranda), Haley Westman (Blaine), Derry Westman, Matthew Talbott, Joe Westman Jr., Nats Finley; great-grandchildren, Zeke Brown, Dean Talbott, Tayzley Diaz, AJ Cranmer, Jakobi Diaz, Easton Self, another one due in June, she was very excited for this new grandchild; many other relatives to numerous to name.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents; Roger's parents; brothers-in-law, Robert Malling, Bob Wallace, Richard Westman; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wallace; daughter, Brittany Westman.
