Janet Foster, 53, Garrison, formerly of Minot, died Thursday, Nov. 3 at a Bismarck hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Monday from Noon to 7 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

Janet was born March 20, 1959 to James and Ethel Hummel in Garrison, ND where she was raised and educated, graduating from Garrison High School in 1976. Following high school she received her secretarial degree in Grand Forks, ND where she worked for several years at a development home. She moved to Minot and worked several jobs until the opening of ING where she was employed at the time of her death.

Janet's family was the most important thing in her life. She had the most fun going to family gatherings. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her. Janet is survived by her husband, Bill, Garrison; son, Christ (Tabitha) Bauer, Berthold; daughter, ReBecca (Chris) Rhoades, Garrison; grandchildren, Bailey, Aryonna, and Kaytlin; step children, Keelee and Briar Foster; father, James Hummel; brothers, Rick (Marlys) Hummel, Bottineau, Craig (Nancy) Hummel, Garrison, sisters, Lois (Gary) Anderson, Seymour, IN, Mary (Gary) Angell, Garrison, Peggy (Frank) Moran, Garrison, Betty Hummel, Minot, and Susan (Jeff) Ekstrom, Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myles Bauer, son, T.J. Bauer, mother, Ethel Hummel, and brother, James Kent Hummel.
