Jeff "Bonzo" Brennan, 61, Garrison, died on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home after a two-year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Camp of the Cross west of Garrison. Memorial services will also be held on Tuesday, October 8 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo.

Jeff was born at Saratoga Springs, NY on May 18, 1958 to Clayton and Gloria (Berg) Brennan. After his dad's tour in the US Air Force, Jeff was raised in Fargo, ND. He attended school at Jefferson Elementary, middle school at Agassiz, and high school at South High, all in Fargo. After graduating from high school he trained and worked at A-Transmission City overhauling automatic transmissions. During his working years he fished in many places and around 1988 he began fishing Lake Sakakawea. In 1989, Jeff began a career guiding fisherman. He then started his own guide service called Bonzo's Guide Service. Jeff guided until December of 2017 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Although he couldn't guide, his love for fishing couldn't be stopped. He continued to fish with friends up until the time of his death. Jeff was also an avid hunter and did some guiding for several years. Over the years, Jeff became very close friends with Doug Ridge from southern Wisconsin. Doug helped Jeff with whatever he needed and drove him to Bismarck for chemo treatments on many occasions. They did a lot of fishing together and were just very good friends.
Jeff met Teresa (Madsen) Jerome in Garrison and began a lifelong relationship. Teresa had two children, Tasha and Chris, and Jeff took them and later their children, as his own. On April 27, 2015, Jeff and Teresa were united in marriage in Washburn, ND. Although Jeff's life ended too soon, they felt blessed to have many wonderful years together.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Teresa, Garrison, ND; parents, Clayton and Gloria Brennan, West Fargo, ND; siblings, Denise (Jeff) Tangen, Cascade, ID, Doug (Mary Jo) Brennan, West Fargo, ND, Marcia (Todd) Smedshammer, Farmington, MN; step children, Chris and Tasha Jerome, Garrison, ND; grandchildren, Lexi and Sophia Everett, Khloe and Tristen Jerome; nephews and nieces, Tanner and Styve Smedshammer, and Jesse and Allison Tangen.
He was preceded in death by his grandma and grandpa Berg, grandma and grandpa Brennan, and his beloved chihuahua, Pablo.
