Mrs. Joan Stella Bynum, 88, of Garrison, ND, made her journey home Saturday, August 10, 2024, with her family by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, ND. Burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, ND.

Joan and identical twin, Joyce, was born on September 14, 1935, to Joseph H. Poitra and Marie Virginia Enno Poitra at their home in rural Belcourt, ND.

Joan is survived by her sons, Joseph Whitetail-Eagle Sr. (Samantha) New Town, ND, Gordon Ensrude Jr., Garrison, ND, Michael Martin (Carla) Hazen, ND; daughters, Carol Morrow (Jim) Center, ND, Joyce Carter (Jerry) Hazen, ND, Debbie Robbins (Loren) Garrison, ND; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dominic, Chester, Fred, Floyd, Joseph, Johnny, Julius Sr., William, and Cary; sisters, Joyce Poitra Hintz, Orla Poitra, and Janice Poitra Anderson.
