Joan McCloud, 75, Garrison, passed away May 29th 2012 at the Garrison Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Pick City.

Joan was born June 22nd, 1936 to Tobias & Elsie (Isaak) Sailer in Hazen ND. She was united in marriage on May 18th, 1953 to Joseph McCloud.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking, especially homemade bread and buns. She loved nothing better than spending time with her family, and spent many joyful hours fishing with her grandchildren. She loved the time she spent working and later volunteering at the Garrison Memorial Hospital.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three wonderful children; 2 daughters, Kathy (Colin) Fischer of Garrison ND, Suzie (Dean) Folden of Garrison ND and a son Robert (Chris) McCloud of Grand Forks ND. Grandchildren; Brandy, Tasha, Marcie, Tyrel, and great-grandchildren Cody and Trace. Nine brothers; Glen (Merlin) Sailer, James (Marilyn) Sailer, Stanley Sailer, Tom (Cindy) Sailer, Perry (Donna) Sailer, Bruce (Marilyn) Sailer, Lee (Coleen) Sailer, Willis (Carol) Sailer, Jacob (Janet) Sailer. Three sisters; Judy (Joe) Proulx, LaVonne (Dale) Evenson, Yvonne (Monty) Stiefel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Tommy, and sons Larry and Jamie.

Joan's final act of kindness was donating her body to the University of ND Science Department for the education of others. Memorials to the ND Special Olympics are preferred in lieu of flowers.
