Joanne Alice Norquist, 79, died in Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND on October 23, 2020 of COVID 19 virus related health complications.  She was born November 27, 1940 to Selmer and Helene Norquist in Minot, ND, the youngest of five children.  They lived in rural Douglas, ND until 1949 when the family moved to Garrison, ND.

Joanne graduated from Garrison High School in 1958.  She then attended Minot Business College.  Following employment in Minot, ND Joanne moved to Seattle, WA in 1961 to join her sister, Janice (Jan) where she was employed with Group Health Credit Union from 1963-1990.

Following retirement, she moved back to Garrison in 1990.  She was then employed at Garrison State Bank until 2006.  Due to health issues in 2017, she moved to Minot and became a resident at Minot Health & Rehabilitation.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers in law Mardel Erb, Dennis Thompson and Glenn Zimmerman; niece Stacy Ledin and Annette Strong; nephew David Thies; and great-nephew Trevor Ledin.

Survivors are brother Delano (Cheryle) Norquist, West Point, NE; sisters Alma Zimmerman, Duluth, MN; Clara Thompson, Minot, ND;  Jan (Jack) Thies, Lake Kiowa, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

No service will be held due to the corona virus concerns.
