Obituary

John "Johnny" Biedermann, 64, Garrison, died on Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. A celebration of Johnny's life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Jake's Ballroom on Main Street of Garrison.

John was born September 4, 1952 in Manchester Hospital in Manchester, Iowa to Oliver and Shirley (Bennington) Biedermann. He and his family moved to Compton, CA when he was young. He attended high school in Lakewood, CA. Following school he married Diana Morentin. Together they had 5 children, David, Lisa, Dina, Shane, and Amy. They later divorced. He was once married to Sandee Parker.

Johnny remained in southern California and as a young man began his career in the concrete business. He later moved to Arizona, continuing in the concrete business with his son, David. They eventually went back to the Riverside, CA area where they purchased their own concrete mixer business.

Johnny and David moved their business to New Town, ND during the oil boom. The plant they worked out of was not sufficient so they made the decision to move to Garrison, where they were able to build a more permanent batch plant. The move from California was a bold move that proved to be a very wise business decision, providing very well for their families.

Johnny was a laid back friendly man. He was known for greeting people with a "hello brother", or, being the ladies' man that he was, "hello baby". The latter always coming with more of a twinkle in his eye. Johnny had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and important. He lived larger than life and was the life of the party. He was an extremely generous person and he loved to cheer for the underdog. He loved to travel and he lived his life to the fullest! You can say that Johnny was a colorful man. In his younger days he had a passion for drag racing, which fit his personality at the time. As the years went by, his passion turned to classic cars, and the memories they provided. Many of those memories involved his favorite 60's music, again, fondly remembering his younger years. Johnny was also a great cook and always enjoyed a good meal!

Johnny is survived by his children, David (Veronica) Biedermann, Garrison, Lisa (Dorian) LaPaglia, Temecula, CA, Dina Biedermann, Riverside, CA, Shane (Jenny), Edmund, OK, Amy (Sean) Cook, La Mirada, CA; grandchildren, Erin, Jonathan, and Zach Biederman, Payton and Gavin LaPaglia, Oliver Biedermann, and Karissa and Trevor Cook; 2 great grandchildren, Grayson Sullivan and Elice Mercado; mother, Shirley Biedermann, Garrison, brother; Carl Biedermann, Garrison; fiancee', Melissa Rud, Garrison.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver, and a brother, Paul Biedermann.
