IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Sayler
January 20, 1924 – December 6, 2020
John was born January 20th, 1924 at the family farm to Henry and Rosalia (Neuberger) Sayler northwest of Garrison. He married the love of his life Joyce Tibbetts on October 25th, 1948 and they were truely in love for 73 wonderful years until his last breath. They raised 4 children on the family farm, Vicki, Gary, Janice, and Jerry.
John was entrusted by his father at a very young age to be the caregiver of the working horses on the farm since they were critical for farming back then. His early days of working with horses led him to a life long love of his horses and cattle on the farm. He was like a shepherd,to his flock. In addition to farming and ranching life, he also hauled cattle for Turtle Lake Livestock, hauling cattle to and from the sale barn. John also hauled cattle for local ranchers to and from their pastures and always was available to haul horses for the Garrison Wagon Train. John farmed for 70 years and semi retired to Garrison with Joyce in 2000 but continued to come to the farm everyday where he remained an active part of the business. John branded his last calf this past spring and hauled his last hay bale this fall. John was baptized and confirmed in the German Congregation Church in Garrison.
John was a lifelong active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Garrison where he served in many roles throughout his life, even helping build the church.
John is survived by his wife Joyce, children Vicki Vincent of Minot, Gary ( Shari ) Sayler of Kuna, ID, Janice Krueger of Minot, and Jerry Sayler of rural Garrison. 10 Grandchildren Carrie Hoag, Kathy Larson, Ronnie Vincent, Nathan Sayler, Andrea Byrne, Kyle Sayler, Becky Peterson, Bobbie Klabo, Lane Sayler, and Coy Sayler, 10 greatgrandchildren, 6 greatgreat grandchildren, 1 sister ( Ida Engel), and several nieces and nephews.
