Jon Schumaier, 39, Bismarck, formerly of Garrison, died on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial services will be private.

Jon Alan Schumaier was born January 10, 1974 in Minot, ND, the son of Dennis and Debra (Sayler) Schumaier. He was raised on a farm near Garrison and attending Garrison High School, graduating in 1993. He then attended NDSCS in Wahpeton and graduated with a degree in diesel technology. He worked as a mechanic for a few years before moving to Mandan, where he worked for Advanced Truss Fabricators as a truss designer for the last 12 years.

Jon loved fishing and never came home with an empty net. He also enjoyed hunting with his dad and brother, and spending time with his family.

Jon is survived by his children, Meghan, Bradley, and Elizabeth; parents, Dennis and Debra, Garrison; brother, Paul (Missie) Schumaier, Moorhead, MN; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Phyllis Sayler, Garrison; uncles, Roger (Mary) Sayler, Fargo, Darin (Karen) Sayler, Bismarck; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arnold and LaVerne Schumaier, and great grandparents, August and Lillie Sayler, and John and Ida Hintz.
