Joseph Bishop, 61, Garrison, loving husband of Karen Bishop, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Garrison Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 8 at 7:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison.

Joseph was born September 30, 1954 in Spokane, WA to Joseph and Lucille (Larsen) Bishop. He finished high school in Seattle, WA and set off for Africa, where he met his first wife. He returned to Seattle and they had three daughters, Emma, Alicia, and Katie. During this time he continued his passion of collecting books and became a bookseller. He later moved to North Dakota where he met Karen and her daughters Leeann and Leslie. Joseph and Karen were married on November 20, 2010 in Garrison, ND.

He loved reading and was an amateur historian, with special interest in Lewis and Clark, the Civil War, and ancient Rome.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Karen, Garrison; daughters Emma, Alicia and Katie Bishop, WA; daughter Leeann (Chad) Wimer, Garrison; daughter Leslie (Ben) Hertz, Mandan; grandchildren Nashton, Dawson, Bella and Keegan Wimer, Garrison; sister Nancy (Doug) Harvey, WA; brother Ernie (Jeanette) Tear, WA; mother Lucille Bishop, WA; and former wife Martha Bishop, WA.

He was preceded in death by his father.
