Obituary

Joshua Koelzer, 33, Garrison, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Garrison. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 16, at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial was at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Joshua Allan Koelzer was born May 8, 1984 to Mark and Paula (Kerzmann) Koelzer in Garrison, ND where he was raised and educated. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Garrison. Josh loved working with his hands. He worked construction all his life and loved to tinker on cars, especially his Duramax, which was literally a best friend!
Josh had a tremendous love for his family. Spending time with his family and just hanging out were the best times of his life. His nephew, Jacob and niece, Aria were the loves of his life and he treated them as if they were his own children. Josh loved to be at the lake, summer or winter, and Jacob caught his first fish with Uncle Josh! He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help his family and friends. His leaving will leave a void that can never be filled, but he will always remain in the hearts of those that loved him.
In his spare time Josh loved to play hockey on his PS4, and cheer for his favorite hockey teams, the UND Fighting Sioux and the Minnesota Wild. He also cheered for the Washington Redskins, maybe just to make his mom mad, (she's a Dallas Cowboys fan!). He was an avid UFC fan and was a big wrestling influence to his brother and cousins.
Josh is survived by his parents, mother, Paula (Pete), Wisconsin; father, Mark, Garrison; brothers, Daniel (Rayne) Colstrip, MT, Nicholas and his daughter, Aria, Minot, ND; sister, Christina, and her son, Jacob, Garrison; maternal grandparents, Joe and Theresa Kerzmann, Garrison; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Whitney Nicole, paternal grandparents, Richard and Marlene Koelzer, great grandparents, Joseph and Evelyn Kerzmann, Walter and Gertrude Fredrickson, great great grandparents, Emil and Molly Schock, and Jean Koelzer, and cousins, Jonathan Lehfeldt and Michael Sayler.
