Keith Fox Jr (Kanits wiiaxts) Sonny Boy, was born November 21st 1960, to Keith Fox Sr. and Mary Jane Painte, in Stanley North Dakota. At the young age of 5, he began living with his paternal grandparents, John Sr. and Agnes Fox in White Shield, North Dakota, where he began his young years of Elementary School and was raised. Keith and his sister Arlene began kindergarten together in White Shield. He attended White Shield School until he entered High School. Then for a brief time Sonny boy moved to Westminster, Colorado with Uncle John Jr. and Nancy Fox. He decided to return home and finish out his high school years in White Shield in which he graduated in May of 1979.
After graduation Sonny Boy was accepted to the Boxelder Job Corps in Nemo, South Dakota. There he studied Culinary Arts, and graduated to be a Chef. This is where he met Rebecca DeRoche, and his one and only daughter Terra was born to this reunion.

Sonny Boy then moved to Browning, Montana where he began his career as a chef. He managed Tommy's Pizza and he also catered private parties and events using his culinary arts skills.

He moved his family to Taholah, Washington where he began working as the Chef, for the Lake Quinault Lodge. He switched his profession and became a Police Officer for Taholah, but he loved to cook.

When Terra was old enough to travel, Sonny Boy moved back to White Shield where he raised his daughter there for many years. While he was home in White Shield, he trained to become a wildland firefighter. This position took him all over the United States and Canada. When fire season was over, he couldn't keep idle, so he began taking on various jobs to keep him busy. He tried being a seismographer, but that did not last very long. He was also the White Shield Girls Basketball Coach. What really caught his attention was when the oil boom hit Fort Berthold. He started working as a floor hand, and moved up and was a Motorman for the oil rigs Grey Wolf/Precision and Patterson. He did this work for 10 years plus, but ended up retiring due to health reasons.

During this time of his life, he met his wife Julia Smith of 20 plus years, and helped her raise her 5 children and her grandchildren. They resided in Parshall, North Dakota.

He was active in various sports throughout his life including basketball, softball, and horseshoes. He would travel all over for tournaments and games. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. When he became sick he no longer was able to participate in these activities. Therefore, he became an avid Vikings fans and enjoyed being with family and friends cheering on the Vikes. Sonny Boy, was a kind and generous man. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.
