Keith Fox Sr. was born to John Fox Sr. and Agnes (Everett) Fox at Elbowoods, ND on March 30th, 1938. He attended school in Garrison where he participated in football. He excelled in Amateur Boxing in which he started at a young age. He traveled with his father and brother John Fox Jr. Keith received numerous awards for his expertise in boxing Golden Gloves. He enjoyed traveling around to various rodeos in which he would compete in the Bareback Division. He relocated to Colorado and lived in Denver for many years before moving back to North Dakota in 1977.
While living in Denver, he was employed with the Redfield Company and also drove the City Bus for RTC. He was involved in many endeavors that involved his culture in which he was very proud of. Keith enjoyed traveling throughout Indian Country to attended pow-wows to sing and watch his family dance. He worked with various committees including one that he started called the Denver March Pow-wow. Today this is one of the largest gatherings to kick off the pow-wow season. He was also a member of the Dead Grass Society and the Old Scouts Society.
In 1977 he moved his family back to North Dakota and made his home in White Shield. There he was employed with the White Shield School and had 29 years in when he retired in 2008. A few years into his retirement, he decided to go back to work part-time. The Three Affiliated Tribes Headstart welcomed him on board. He enjoyed being back to work and continued to drive bus for the Little Warriors Headstart up until 2010. He then discontinued driving bus due to health issues.
Being diagnosed with cancer in 2001, he was bound and determined to battle this disease and that he did for eleven years. His children and grandchildren were behind him with this battle.

Keith is survived by sons: Arlon (Christine) Fox of New Town, ND, Keith (Julia) Fox Jr. of Parshall, ND, Alvin (Barbara) Foote of Parshall, ND and Clair (Willow) Fox of White Shield, ND; daughters, Bobbie (Greg) Volkmar of Marysville, KS, Arlene Fox of Marysville, KS, Belma Fox of Frederick, MD, Tana Fox of White Shield, and Uli (Justin) Fox of Bismarck, ND; sisters, Gloria Brennan of Parshall, ND, Ardith (Doug) Esquibel of White Shield, ND, Yolanda (Shawn) Bearstail of NewTown, ND, Karmyn Marsette of White Shield, ND and Kaylyn Marsette of Garrison, ND; brothers, Scott Marsette of White Shield, ND and Jay Marsette of White Shield, ND; adopted children, Heather Ironroad, Anson White Tail, Clemen Perkins, Sidrick Baker, Angelo Normand, Wade Baker, Mindy Edwards, Leonard Baker, Cheryl Malnourie, Kevin Kingbird, and Kevon Kingbird.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Laura J. Fox; son, Julian "Goose" Fox; daughter, Odetta SwiftHorse; grandsons, Donovan II and John Clyde Dixon; parents, John and Agnes Fox; brothers, John Fox Jr., Ralph Fox Sr., Colin Fox, Frederick Fox, Harold Shorty Fox, Manny Marsette, and Matthew Marsette Jr.; sisters, Arlinda Marsette and Marianne Ruiz; and adopted children Bruce Strongheart and Kydd Littlesky.
Wake services will be held on Thursday, December 13th, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the White Shield School. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Shield School Gym. Interment will be at the Congregational Cemetery in White Shield.
