Larry Pease, 75, of Emmet, ND left his earthly home on August 2nd, 2018 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, surrounded by family, after having a heart attack. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.
Larry was born on February 27, 1943 in Garrison to Lawrence and Alice Pease. The younger of two boys, Larry spent his youth attending school and working on the farm. He graduated from White Shield High School in 1960, where his yearbook quote was, "My good looks will show after high school, just wait and see girls." He didn't have to wait very long. Shortly after, he met Edna Hoffer in Underwood, ND while she was employed at the café owned by his aunt, Rose Liebel. Larry and Edna were later married in Hardin, MT.
They returned home to the Emmet area and remained on the farm with his parents. They shared a life, and with the sharing, came building a family of 4 sons and 2 daughters, along with farming and having cattle and horses. For every end that Larry met, his beautiful wife kept it tied.
While he was a young man and into middle age, he enjoyed team roping with some of the rowdiest cowboys anyone could imagine. He loved every minute of it, and even began team roping with his father, Lawrence.
Tragically, he lost his wife Edna on August 16th, 2003 to cancer. Although they had always played cards as a team, Larry figured there must be another card game for him. He was right. It was then that he discovered his love of poker and was blessed to find a new companion, Helen, along with so many new friends that shared his new found passion.
He was also blessed with four grandchildren that he was very proud of.
Larry will always be remembered for his quiet demeanor, friendly nature, and his caring attitude to those that needed it most.
He is survived by his four sons, Randy Pease, Minot, ND, Jody (Tanya) Pease, Garrison, Todd Pease, Garrison, Jay Pease, Garrison. Daughters, Connie (Al), Garrison, Carla (Jay) Pease, Garrison. Four grandchildren, brother Bernard Pease of Lambert, MT. His companion, Helen Harmon, of Minot, ND, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Pease, his parents, Lawrence and Alice Pease, and two special aunts, Rosmary and Kay Schwandt.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, prayers and kind gestures during this time of loss, it meant the world to us, after losing the last part of ours.
