Larry Raymond Zimmerman, 82, formally of Noonan, Berthold, and Minot died on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison, ND.

Larry was born October 1, 1938 to Rueben and Harriet (Trulin) Zimmerman in Noonan, ND. He married Betty Ann Melland in Minot, ND on July 25, 1975.

Larry worked for the United States postal Service for 44 years. He began his rural mail carrier career in Noonan, ND and ended his long career receiving the Million Mile certificate while delivering mail to the communities of Berthold, Carpio, and Foxholm, ND. He retired January 1, 2010.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman including hunting, fishing, camping and golfing. Experiencing all of these hobbies with his beloved wife, family and friends gave them all many laughs to share and memories to cherish. He frequently attended and was a supporter of Pheasants for the Future Banquets. Larry enjoyed the competition of numerous fishing tournaments including the ND Governors Cup. Larry was a long-time member of the Minot Eagles Club and the Minot Moose Lodge. Larry was a "gentle giant" loved by all.

Step Grandchildren, David Fredrickson, Dickinson, North Dakota, Tammy Mathsen(Curt), Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chantel Christianson, Billings, Montana, Abbie Jennings(Eric), Rapid City, South Dakota, Hollie Hoffman(Jeb), Rapid City, South Dakota, Heidi Grover(Ethan) Rapid City, South Dakota, Amy Christianson, Glendive, Montana, Katie Macioroski(Shane), Glendive, Montana, Craig Christianson(Kelica), Grand Forks, North Dakota, Kelsey Olsen(Tyler) Cando, North Dakota, Kristin Altendorf, Saratoga Springs, Utah, Kylee Black(Carson), Misenheimer, North Carolina, Along with many step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside prayer service will be held at St. Nicholas cemetery in Garrison, ND at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 10. Fellowship will follow on the garden patio at the Meadows Assisted Living facility, 719 4 ^th Ave NE, Garrison, ND. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, ND.
