hospital.

Leatrice was born May 17, 1926 in Sisseton, SD to Vernon and Laura (Vollmer) Knight. She was
raised and educated in Berthold, ND, graduating from Berthold High School. Following
graduation she moved to Renton, WA where she worked for Boeing. She returned to North
Dakota and worked for JC Penny in Minot.
On September 29, 1945 Leatrice married Floyd Stockdill in Berthold, ND. They lived in
Hartland, Berthold, and Turtle Lake, before settling in Garrison in 1964. During their 70 years
together they raised 8 children.
Raising 8 children didn't allow a lot of free time, but when there was Leatrice enjoyed
baking, canning and sewing. She also loved to garden and used the fruits of her labor to
provide for her family. In her later years she very much enjoyed relaxing while reading a
good book. Her true love however, was quilting. Each stitch was made with love and care;
every quilt providing her children and grandchildren warmth and the memory of a wonderful
woman.

Leatrice was a member of the Homemaker's Club, St. Paul WELCA, a lifetime member of the
TOPS Club, and a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Leatrice is survived by her sons, Jeff (Sandra) Stockdill, Velva, ND, Timothy (Diane) Stockdill,
Garrison, ND, Garland (Jackie) Stockdill, Bismarck, ND, Jay (Sherry) Stockdill, Plentywood,
MT; daughters, Pamela (Ricky) Schulz, Coal Valley, IL, Penny (Michael) Johnson, St. Charles,
IL, Shelly (Allan) Mautz, Hazen, ND, and Beth (Dennis) Hoffer, Garrison, ND; 28 grandchildren;
32 great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Olson and Shirley Singer; and numerous nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd, her parents Vern and Laura Knight,
sister Loseal Kilene a grandchild, Flynn Schulz, and a great grandchild, Pepper Johnson.
