Lillian Weinand, 103, Garrison, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at a Garrison hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. A rosary will be said on Friday at 7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at St. Bridgett Catholic Cemetery in Parshall at 3:00 pm.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 at the church.
Lillian was born March 4, 1910 to Henry and Margaret (Shoenfhofen) Aulman in Fairchild, WI, the youngest of 16 children. At a young age she and her family moved to Elbowoods, ND. At age 17 she married Mike Weinand. They made their home on a farm southeast of Roseglen, where they raised their 8 children. Mike died in 1970.
Following Mike's death, Lillian moved to Parshall. While living in Parshall, Lillian was active in St. Bridgett Catholic Church and helped take care of the parsonage.
In 1982, Lillian moved to Garrison. While living in Garrison she became a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was active in various church activities.
Lillian was an accomplished quilter and many of her creative works were given to family members and numerous charities. She also loved to cook and bake and was especially known for her homemade bread.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Phillip (Mary Ann) Weinand, Minot, ND, Gerome (Darlene) Weinand, Missoula, MT; daughter, Rosella (Harry) Franklin, Glendive, MT; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mike, and her sons, Leonard, Charles, Tom, Don, and Richard Weinand.
