Obituary

Loie Yleta White Bear was born February 8, 1961 to the late Joseph and Pauline White Bear in Garrison North Dakota. Loie departed this life in her home in White Shield, ND on March 3, 2012. Wake services will begin at 5 pm on Tuesday March 6 and funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday March 7 in the Ralph Wells Memorial Complex. Burial will be at the Arikara Congregational Church cemetery.

She was a 30-year member of the Joseph Young Hawk/Elmer Bear Post 253 American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid supporter of the Auxiliary, over the years serving as the President and at the time of her death was the Secretary.
Loie enjoyed playing bingo. She supported the various organizations in the White Shield community by playing in their bingo fundraisers. She was a frequent patron of Bingorama in Minot.

In earlier years, Loie sewed pillows, potholders, doll blankets, aprons and many other crafts. She was well known for the beautiful pillows she made, especially the custom made bronc and bull riding ones.

Loie truly loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them whether it was at a family gathering, watching her granddaughters dance "the shuffle" or making her famous buttered popcorn and watching a movie. She often supported them when they went on field trips, had class fundraisers or a class party. Loie very much loved to watch her grandchildren play basketball and was deemed the loudest cheerleader. Many times she had to be reminded that it was a grade/high school game and not the NBA.

Loie leaves behind family members who will dearly miss her. They include: brothers Wayne, Richard and Elmer White Bear all of White Shield, sisters Madonna Azure (Roy) and Joy Bezpaletz also of White Shield and Florence Burr of New Town. She didn't have any children but raised her nephew and niece Joseph and Genevieve Azure. Grandchildren-Qynn and Shallen Azure, Jayden, Jacob, Megan and Delmar White Bear, Isabella Dickens, Mercedes Stand Grady and Madison McKinney, step grandchildren, Cecelia Hosie, Dion and Alivia Bolman. Many aunts, uncles, nephews nieces and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, parents, sister Elaine, brothers Delmar and Gary.
