Lorene Conklin, 92, Garrison, formerly of Douglas, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at a Garrison hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 6 at First Congregational Church in Garrison.

Lorene was born December 24,1920 in Romsaas township, rural Douglas, ND, to Ossie and Ellen (Kelly) McKinzie. She graduated from Ryder High School.

Lorene married Vincent Conklin May 28, 1940 in Bismarck, ND. They farmed and ranched in Platt Township, rural Douglas, until their retirement in 1977, when they moved into Garrison.

Lorene was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC, in Garrison, where she was very active in the Northwest Circle of the ladies aid. Several years ago she was recognized as a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. Lorene also had many hobbies including, baking, canning, gardening, sewing and quilting.

Lorene is survived by her son, Tom (Diane) Conklin, Douglas; son-in-law, Rollin (Joyce) Wolter, Fortuna, ND; grandchildren, Susan (Chuck) Nettell, Rory (Robbie) Wolter, Ryan (Marci) Conklin, Cara (Marty) Melland, Katie Conklin, Lisa (Steve) Borreson, and Brett Wolter; great grandchildren, Alexa, Zachary, Rhett, Bob, Brandon, Jessica, Nicole, Logan, Hailee, Devon, Colton, Kinsley, Brayden, Carter, Keira, and Gracie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vincent, and daughters, Diana Conklin and Charlotte Wolter.
