Obituary
Lorraine Rose (Eman) Huettl, 89, of Glendale, Arizona, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in a Hospice of the Valley Hospital in Sun City, Arizona.
She was born on January 1, 1924, near Coleharbor to Friedrich and Rosina Eman. She was the 11th child of 14 children, and she was the last surviving member of her family. On November 26, 1942, she married LuVerne Huettl, and they spent twenty wonderful years together. LuVerne died of a heart attack at the age of 43 on May 11, 1963, and Lorraine, at age 39, became a singe parent to eight children: Vern of Minot; Pat (Alan) Burckhard of Glendale, AZ; Alice (Jerry) Zeiszler of Mazomanie, WI; Wanda (Stan) Bird of Ooltewah, TN, who passed away on February 21, 2012; Tom of Phoenix, AZ; Jeri (Gilbert) Saenz of Chandler, AZ; Dan (Elaine) of Gilbert, AZ; and Nina of Glendale, AZ.
Lorraine moved to Arizona in 1968 with her four youngest children. She was a loving,
caring mother who enjoyed baking, gardening, dancing, playing cards, and family gatherings. She was also a strong willed, independent woman with a very strong work ethic, which she instilled in each of her children. Over the course of the past several months, she spent many hours reflecting on her growing up years on the farm and also talking about her grandchildren. Her proudest moments were visits from her 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her two great great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LuVerne; her stillborn daughter born in 1957; her daughter Wanda; and her 13 brothers and sisters, including Lena Wretling, Rose Vetter, and Lydia Steinke, all of Garrison.
A Rosary service will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Friday, July 12th, at 7:00 PM, followed by the funeral Mass on Saturday, July 13th, at 10:30 AM.
