December 12, 1926 – August 13, 2020
MarJorie (Sis) Edwards, 93, Garrison, ND, joined her heavenly Father on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Sanford Hospital with her loving husband at her side. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.
MarJorie Lue Frank was born on December 12, 1926 at Garrison, ND to Andrew and Louisa (Riedlinger) Frank. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Douglas, ND. MarJorie attended grade school at Crystal School and graduated from Douglas High School. She attended college in Minot, ND and taught at rural schools from 1946 to 1953. While visiting her father, a patient at Garrison Memorial Hospital, she was asked to help in the business office for a few weeks. She continued working at the hospital for the next 36 years as Office Clerk and Business Manager, retiring in May of 1989.
MarJ, loving known by her family as "Sis" married her lifelong partner of 69 years , Harold (Dee) Edwards on April 15, 1951 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Garrison, ND. They lived their entire married life in Garrison, enjoying weekends and any extra time at their lake cabin on Lake Audubon. MarJ was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, holding several offices.
MarJ and Dee had no children of their own, however much devotion was given to a dozen Godchildren and many nieces and nephews. MarJ and Dee spent many years as caregivers to first, their parents and then to elderly friends and neighbors. MarJ had a special place in her heart for her cats, Little Boy, Gracie, and Gray Allen.
MarJ enjoyed her retirement researching family genealogy, gardening, riding bike, dancing and mastering the art of Hardanger.
MarJorie's loving family includes husband, Dee, sister-in-law, Carol Frank, brother-in-law, Duane (Maria) Edwards, sister-in-law, Mildred Edwards, and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
MarJ was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, William (Eleanor) Frank, Eleanora (Lloyd) Fliginger, Erna (Reider) Lien, Roland (Lozina) Frank, Jay Frank, and June Rose Frank.
