Obituary

Marvin Leo Hagge, 91, died peacefully Thursday March 22, surrounded by his family at St. Josephs Hospital in Bryan, TX.

Visitation will be at 1 PM Saturday March 31, Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Cemetery in Emmet.

Marvin was born September 2, 1920 in Emmet, North Dakota to Mathias and Oline Hagge.
Marvin was raised in Emmet. He farmed with his father on the family homestead. He continued farming for several years following his marriage to Marlene (Carsen) March 14, 1955. Marvin also worked for Standard Oil in Kenmare, and delivered US Mail from Minot for 12 years. In 1977 they moved to Snohomish, WA where he managed a gas station for Time Oil. In 1982 he retired and moved to Mesa, AZ, where he enjoyed the sunshine and gardening. In 2010 they moved to Bryan, TX to be near their children. Marvin especially enjoyed visiting his farm in ND, he was a farmer at heart, he never lost his love for his farm. Walking his wheat fields gave him a great sense of pride and enjoyment.

Marvin will be remembered lovingly by his wife, Marlene; his children, Nancy (Jay) Schaan, Prosper, TX; Marvin Hagge, Bryan, TX; Debbie (Mike) Simmons, Chelan, WA, his grandsons, Allan (Jessie) Simmons, Dillan and Phillip Simmons, Chelan, WA; sister-in-law Elsie Hagge, Bismarck; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and brother-in-laws, Alma (George) Hendrickson; Dagne (Norris) Ovri; and brother, David.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Ye Olde Malt Shoppe in Garrison following the graveside service.
