Mary Flath, 61, of Garrison, passed away on July 29, 2026, at the Garrison Memorial Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, ND.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, ND, with a Rosary/Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM

Mary Louise Flath was born on January 25, 1965, in garrison. The daughter of Theophil and Louise (Smith) Flath. She was the youngest of six children.

She grew up on the family farm NE of Garrison. Mary attended Garrison High School and Minot State College.

Mary started as a cook at Elsie’s Café and then at the Lakeroad restaurant. She managed the Sun Dollar Store on Main Street for several years before joining GAIA as a blackjack dealer. Mary loved dealing blackjack, but if players were rude, she loved to take their money, with that one exception, she was generous to a fault.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe.

Mary is survived by her siblings, Janice (Stuart) Merry, Ervin (Crystal) Flath, Edward (Judy) Flath, Boyd Flath; sister-in-law, Melinda Flath; special friend, Byron Gill; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
