Myron Miles Trueblood was born April 25, 1935 to William and Elvira (Rodahl) Trueblood on a farm south of Ryder. He attended grade school at Platt Township. He attended Garrison High School, graduating in 1953. Myron joined the US Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in December of 1957.
Myron married Patricia Mahoney on May 29, 1959. They made their home in Garrison and raised their 3 sons. Myron worked for the Farmer's Union Elevator until becoming ill in the fall of 1963. He was hospitalized for six months with a viral infection that left him paralyzed. He had to relearn how to talk and feed himself again. Through the help of the Lord, many prayers, and support from his family, and pure determination, he got well enough to walk with a cane, and once again do things for himself.
Myron was a wonderful husband and loving father to his sons. He loved fishing, camping and dancing in his earlier years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Garrison. He was also a member of the Hugh P. Minehan American Legion Post #49 in Garrison and served on many local boards.
Myron is survived by his wife Patricia; Minot, ND two sons, Thomas (Kileen) Hoyt Lakes, MN, and Todd(Shelly), Minot, ND; grandchildren, Lee (Amanda) Trueblood, Clay (Stephanie) Trueblood, Melissa (Nick) Lefebvre, Tanner Trueblood (special friend, Sara), Taryn Trueblood; great grandchild, Silas Trueblood; brothers, Loren Trueblood, Howard (Jean) Trueblood, all of Garrison; sister, Celeste Berger, Mandan, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
