Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00am to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.
Olga was born February 20, 1914 in the Adams/Fairdale area to John and Bertha (Skare) Teenquist, as the 7th of eight children. Her mother was from Norway and her father from Sweden, so at home they spoke a mixture of the two. Olga learned English after she started attending school. When she was seven, her mother passed away and soon after two of her teenaged sisters also passed away, so Olga and her younger sister, Agnes, were raised by their father and brothers. During her childhood, they moved to the Douglas area.
On September 28, 1934 Olga married Oscar Rodahl in Garrison. They farmed in the Emmet area until 1956 when they moved into Garrison. Oscar passed away in 1974. Olga kept busy with her grandchildren, flowerbeds, and sewing quilts for family and the church. She loved visiting and playing cards. Olga was notorious for her method of putting together puzzles – any piece would fit if you hit it hard enough! She remained living independently in Garrison until the age of 90, when she moved to Dickinson with her daughter. At the age of 92 she entered Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, where she spent six years.
Olga is survived by her daughter, Wanda, Dickinson; son, Kenneth (Donna), Sandy, UT; daughter-in-law, Teresa Rodahl, Gwinner; sister-in-law and special friend, Lillian Rodahl, Hazen; twelve grandchildren, Susie Dudley, Bryan (Irene) Rodahl, Mark (Dalia) Rodahl, Dean (Allyson) Rodahl, Scott (May) Rodahl, Roy Rodahl, Dawn (Rick) Gaden, Tammy (Greg) Parisien, Colleen Kubler (Barry Walton), Collette (Brian) Gartner, Tina (Robert) Grade, and Wendy Torno (Doug Harrington); nineteen great-grandchildren, Kenny Dudley, Candice (Bryan) Hadzik, Brandon and Joanna Rodahl, Jacob and Nathan Rodahl, April, Autumn, and Lily Gaden, Misty (Jeremy) Mahany, Lindsay (Darin) Johannes, Abbi Parisien, Rebecca Kubler, Cooper Walton, and Amanda Burke, Sydni Gartner, Matthew and Mitchell Grade, and Keira Harrington; eight great great-grandchildren, Dexter, Zoey, Grayson, Caleb, Jaeger, Breslynn, Emmet, and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
