IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rachael
Porter
September 1, 1940 – September 19, 2021
Rachael Porter, 81, Garrison, died suddenly on Sunday, September 22, 2021, at her home. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Garrison Church of God.
Rachael Fern (Krantz) Porter was born September 1, 1940, the fifth out of eleven children, to Earl and Ernestine (Opps) Krantz in Emmet, ND. She attended Garrison High School, graduating in 1957. In 1958 Rachael had her first son, Michael.
Rachael met and married the love of her life, Leland Porter, in Garrison, ND. After their marriage, they lived in Michigan, Nevada and California. From their union came three boys, Jamie, Ethen, and Travis. After the death of her husband, Rachael packed up her boys and moved back to North Dakota.
Rachael dedicated her life to taking care of others by working as a CAN and later opening and running a daycare. She had a tremendous love for God and was a devout Christian. She attended the Garrison Church of God and oversaw starting the Prayer Chain when someone was ill or going through tough times. Rachael's big and kind heart will be missed by many.
Rachael had a great love for the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She also enjoyed playing cards and word games. She so cherished hanging out with family and friends and she was always the number one fan for her grandchildren, attending all their school and sporting events. Her family, children, and grandchildren were top priority.
Rachael is survived by her children, Mike Wenzel, California, Jamie Porter, Ethen (Marie) Porter, and Travis Porter, all of North Dakota, stepdaughter, Leanne Francis, Washington; grandchildren, Allen (Karley) Porter, Sydney Porter, Trevor Wenzel; great grandson, Boaz Porter; step grandchildren, Makayla Santo, Melanie Patrix, Jacob Patrix, six siblings; and many nieces nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leland, siblings, Milton, Joyce, Gladys, and Theresa.
