Obituary

Ray Frank, 64, Minot, formerly of Douglas, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his home.

Ray was the first-born son of Roland and Lozina (Harriman) Frank in Minot, ND. His father named him after a World War II comrade named Ray Glenn; an honor he was truly proud. After growing up and graduating in Douglas ND, where he participated in many activities, he attended Wahpeton State School of Science to study electrical engineering. As a legacy to his name-sake and love of country, he joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era in 1967 and served for 4 years.

Ray was once married to Mary Cecilia (Cec) Detchemendy in Huntsville, AL. From this union, Zachary and Christopher were born.

Ray worked in nuclear power plants in Washington State, Virginia, and Illinois. He worked in New York City for Fishbach and Moore for several years. He most recently worked for Mayer Electric in Minot ND.

In the last few years, he enjoyed living in Minot where he was close to family and life-long friends. Ray enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Ray's special interests included vast details of world history and a remarkable memory for facts, statistics, and literary works.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his sons and 3 grandchildren; his siblings, Donna Koppinger of Overland Park, KA, Constance Jensen (Glenn), Mexico MO, Sandra (John) Crawford, Garrison ND, Jennifer (Jeff) Hefter, Dan(Lenore) Frank and Shadrack (Tom) (Janice) Frank; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncle Carol Frank and Marjorie and Harold (Dee) Edwards of Garrison, and Audrey Corp of Huntsville, AL.

A private memorial was held at the Thompson Funeral Home of Garrison on Monday. Full military honors were provided by the Hugh P. Minehan American Legion Post #49 of Garrison. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Douglas, ND.
