Raymond E. Halverson, 82, of Garrison, passed away on February 8, 2024, of natural causes, at his home.
Military Honors will be held at 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Raymond Eugene Halverson was born on October 1, 1941, in White Earth, North Dakota. The son of Robert "red", and Eleanor (Coltvert) Halverson.
Ray was joined in marriage on July 27, 1966, to Magdalena J. Braun.
Raymond served our country in the armed forces as a sergeant in the Army, he received certificates of appreciation, safety, and medals.
Raymond served an honorable discharge in 1975 and retired from the Army in 1981. He continued to work within his community and went on to Chrysler dealership and worked for Parks and Rec. for Garrison Fort Stevenson State Park.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children. Outdoor activities, camping and boating with grandchildren. He especially got a kick out of pulling the tube behind the boat, trying to dump off anyone who was on it.
His hobbies included buying things online, whether it was QVC, or Amazon, it brought him joy to have many packages of new cookbooks, cookware, and fascinating new gadgets he could play with or give as gifts.
He is survived by his wife; children, Gunter Braun, Bettina (Kalus) Schuler, Annmarie (Tommy)Schoffner, Mary (Casey)Strickling, Eugene (Leslie)Halverson; grandchildren, Aubrey, Asher, Kayla, Amber, Natasha, Monty, Dallas, India, Aaron, Audrey, Adaer, Allyce, Alden, Raymond, John, Steven, Dennis, Korina, Justine, and Tim; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
As a Veteran, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather.
He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
