Obituary

Ronald R. Lagge, 77, Garrison, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4th, 2020 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. A private funeral and burial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home and the Garrison City Cemetery in Garrison.  The service can be viewed on Facebook by clicking on the following link.  You do not need to have Facebook to view the service: www.facebook.com/garrisonthompsonfh/

A public visitation will be held Thursday, May 7 from 5:00-7:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home.

Ronald was born on May 15th, 1942 in Garrison, ND to Edwin and Tessie (Kovarik) Lagge.

He was raised with his 5 siblings on the family farm and educated in Blackwater Township. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1960.
Ronald married JoAnn Evans on September 27th, 1964. They lived on their family farm west of Emmet where they were blessed with 4 children, 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, Brad (Sundi) Lagge, Paige, Sarah, Emmit, Grant of Garrison; Kevin (Judy) Lagge, Alex, Caleb, Faith, Grace of Edmond OK; Jason (Tina) Lagge, Eric (Audri) Fargo, Ethan, Isaac of Hazen; and Rhonda(Dave) Kamp, Taylor, Jaaron, Bennett Kamp of Garrison, Heather (Bill) Howard and Finley of Williston.

Ronald drove bus for the Garrison School District for 37 years. He enjoyed all his student passengers and had a nickname for almost all of them. He was a board member of the Blackwater Township and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emmet. When St. Peter closed, he became a member of St Paul Lutheran in Garrison. Ronald put his faith in Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.
Ronald stayed involved with his farm and ranch operation all his life. He enjoyed watching the crops grow and the calves running around in the pasture. Ronald always made time to help friends/neighbors with anything they needed. He looked forward to deer hunting in the fall with his kids and grandkids. He loved family activities and watching his children and grandchildren in school functions and sports.
Also surviving him is his brother, Wade Lagge (Lori), Voltaire ND, sisters, Gloria Huston, Garrison, Deana (Ed) Werner, Minot, Karen (Wayne) Aga, Minot.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Lucille Evans, brother, Gary, sister-in-law Doris, brothers-in-law, Jim Huston, Joel Evans, Joe Blegen, Lash Drell, and grandson, Elijah Lagge.

In lieu of flowers, Ronald's family requests donations be made to Garrison Fire Dept., PO Box 784, Garrison, ND  58540 or Camp of the Cross Ministries, PO Box 1257, Garrison, ND  58540.
