Ronald "Ronnie" Huston, 76, Garrison, died on Friday, February 16, 2018 at a Jamestown hospital. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Ronnie was born June 7, 1941 in Garrison, ND to Henry and Nettie (Houtcooper) Huston. He attended grade school at Platt Township School and later graduated from Garrison High School in 1959. Following high school, Ronnie began his career as in construction. He was a jack of all trades, running equipment, oiling machines, mechanic work and anything else that needed to be done. He worked at the Dakota Gasification Plant in Beulah from 1979 to 1987 and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #49 for many years. He also worked for Holen Construction for a number of years. In his retirement days, Ronnie delivered the Bismarck Tribune in Garrison. Ronnie married Dorothy Ireland in 1966. They made their home in Garrison and raised three children, Leslee, Tammy and David.
Ronnie had many hobbies including gardening, hunting and playing cards. He especially enjoyed playing pinochle. His favorite pastime, however, was going to coffee and visiting. Ronnie was a "colorful" character and had a terrific sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family.
Ronnie is survived by his children, Leslee (Toni) Huston, Tammy (Larry) Huston, David (Sammy) Huston; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister-n-law, Gloria Huston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nettie Huston, wife Dorothy, and brother, James Huston.
